Read carefully as these conditions incorporate the basis on which bookings are accepted by Castaways Retreat.

Rental and Bond
Weekly Rates are available from our reservations page. Rates vary, depending upon the time of the year (school holidays, Christmas, Easter etc) and are subject to change without notice.

Rental is weekly from Saturday to Saturday inclusive (including linen and towels).
A bond is also payable and is $460.
Check in time is from 2pm Saturdays. Check out time is 10am the following Saturday.

Your bond will be returned, less exit cleaning charges, following the return of the keys and confirmation from our Property Manager that the property is left neat and tidy.

Booking requests may be declined at our discretion within 5 days of receipt of your booking. Deposits will be refunded in full.

The principal guest must be 25 years of age or older at the time of booking. Families are most welcome.

Well behaved, house trained dogs are very welcome. Dogs must be kept under your supervision at all times and you must agree to accept liability for any damage or accident caused by them. Please clean up after them in the yard (bags are provided).

We ask that you treat your pets for fleas prior to their visit and that you confirm their immunization is current.

Dogs should stay in the tiled areas only. We ask that you keep them off the furniture and out of the bedrooms.

We ask that they sleep outside and have provided a kennel adjacent to the master bedroom in a special courtyard (just bring your own bedding). (Alternative arrangements can be discussed).

We suggest that you bring your own ‘dog towels’ for use after beach visits.

The pool has been built for your enjoyment and we ask that you use the area responsibly. Dogs should not be left in the pool area unattended for any period at any time. The lawn area adjacent to the pool was not designed as a dog containment or toilet area.

Please exercise your dogs in one of the several adjacent reserves and parks or on the beach. Please clean up after them (bags are provided). By doing this the pool area will remain beautiful for everyone’s use.

Castaways’ Retreat is a non-smoking premises.

A $300 deposit will be required at time of booking. We accept payments via Pay Pal.

EFT is also acceptable by prior arrangement. Payment of this deposit will indicate acceptance of all these detailed booking terms and conditions.

Weekly rental rates are not inclusive of an exit clean.

An exit clean will be required once the property is vacated. This $160 cleaning fee is included in the bond.

Castaways Retreat must be left tidy. Used towels are to be placed in the main bathroom bath and utilised beds stripped with the linen placed in the laundry.

The fridge needs to be empty of all perishables and bins in the house should be emptied.
Should the property require a clean beyond the four hours specified, to return it to ‘as you found it’ then there may be an additional charge subtracted from the bond.

The bond is required at the time of the payment of your balance. This bond will be returned to you, less cleaning charges, on the return of the keys, provided the property is left neat and tidy ready for the exit clean. Costs for any damage to property or additional cleaning required to return the house to it’s ‘as you found it’ state following your departure may be deducted from your bond.
If, during our departure inspection, it is apparent that our request that dogs should not be allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture, has been disregarded (i.e. bedroom carpets or furniture require removal of dog hair) we reserve the right to deduct an additional cleaning fee from your rental bond.

Booking confirmation will be provided by email. If this has not occurred within 2 days of payment please call us to confirm. This confirmation will provide address details, balance outstanding and required payment date.

The balance is required in full 21 days prior to arrival date. Location of keys and directions will be forwarded upon the receipt of your balance (including bond). If the deposit, balance or final payment is not received by the due date, Castaways Retreat reserves the right to cancel the booking.

Confirmation and invoices are subject to re-issue if incorrect through error or omission and the renter accepts the liability to then pay the correct cost or to decline to retain the reservation.

Up to 30 days prior to check-in will result in loss of $300 of deposit paid with full refund of bond unless alternative dates are booked. Within 48 hours prior to check-in no refund is offered. We suggest you consider comprehensive travel insurance to protect against any unforeseen cancellation.

General Conditions
To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our house but the occasional abuse requires we state the following additional conditions:

  • The number of guests should not exceed 6 unless previously agreed in writing or email. Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited.

  • The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial use due to the extra wear and tear from the expanded numbers of people or visitors associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in total loss of your bond.

  • Damage, breakages, theft and loss are the tenant's responsibility during their stay.

  • Disturbance - please consider noise levels for the benefit of our neighbours. If the noise level is excessive this will may cause termination of tenancy and/or refund of bond.

  • Bond is payable at the same time as the balance amount. The bond balance, less cleaning, will be refunded in full, subject to all conditions being met. It is designed to cover any additional costs incurred including but not limited to any breakage, damage or excess cleaning requirements or extra guests beyond those declared etc.

The owners of Castaways Retreat take no responsibility for the tenant's personal property.
